Ἀγγλικά-Ἐγκωμιστικός Λόγος ἐν τῆ Μεταστάσει τῆς Θεοτόκου/ English

MEAGER, LAUDATORY WORDS ON THE DORMITION AND TRANSLATION (METASTASIS) OF THE MOTHER OF GOD 

If any be pious and adorer of the Virgin, 

let him join in the dance of the virgin with us; 

If any be native, rich or poor ,

let him come over to the common enrichment of our faith; 

If any be a monastic and a monk, healthy or ailing,

let him get attached to this good fellowship; 

If any be young or elder, 

righteous and persevering ,

let him come, then, and contribute to the common gathering; 

If any be a grateful servant having got out of darkness and shadows of sins,

let him eagerly come into God's courtyard and redeem; 

If any be a servant and a runaway, 

let him not hesitate; 

If any ran to righteousness like a deer getting thirsty for streams of water, 

let him not fear;

let him plentifully pump spring waters turned into remedies giving life;

If any have got tired surrendering in the stadium,

let him not lose faith; 

If any have raised his hands to the Mount of the Lord, 

let him greatly rejoice and relish the benefaction now; 

If any have bent his knees before the Mother of the Word, 

let him eagerly arise; 

If any have shed tears unto the common consolation ,

let him immensely gladden;

If any have become slave to sin, 

let him take courage along with me;

because the common protection, the world's greatest surgery is praised by all the mortal co-dancing with Angels; 

If any have defiled his robe,

let him quickly take heart; 

because the common mediator and impeccable intercessor is glorified;

If any have got tired fearing the battle, 

let him not take off the uniform; 

because the Queen of all and Queen of Angels conducts immutably and safely towards Her Son. 

If any be oppression-bound from an early age, 

let him rejoice with angels; 

If any be delayed at the sixth hour, 

let him not ponder; 

If any have arrived at the eleventh hour, 

let him not fear; 

because the Mother of love who assembled the twelve apostles in one, willingly blesses everyone; 

If any have tarried ,

let him be not alarmed at his tardiness;

because the Mother Virgin , due to the acquired frankness towards Her Son, willingly crowns those who are associated with Her; 

If any be desperately late, 

let him not lose faith; 

because the More glorious than the cherubim and More honorable than the seraphim , being dutiful ,supplies the best as She perceives our weak nature;

If any have become discouraged and have complained a lot, 

let him not be frustrated; 

because the Queen of all and Mother of God is there to support  ;

If any have disrespected Her, 

let him not lose courage for the wrong; 

let him eagerly prostrate before the Mother of mercy and receive absolution;

If any have endured sorrow, persecution, insults, dishonesty, 

let him rejoice along with the martyrs and saints; 

If any have been sent away and had the luck of being mocked, 

let him be given great pleasure along with the saints, prelates and confessors; 

If any be filled with joy and his heart have kindled by the yearning for Virgin ,

let him have Her as a gift and common fellowship among them ;

because behold, the world's great wall is praised and exalted and being the Mother of beneficent God She accepts and recompensates everyone,

is gracious and receives the last even as the first,

blesses the third and crowns the rest,

both honors the work and graces the hymns, 

both shows mercy to the opinion and embraces the intention ; 

thus everyone is granted and no-one is deprived; 

because She wishes to join everyone in one and never deprive anyone of the angelic and heavenly joy;

we glorify the only Ever-Virgin and Mother of God through a common fellowship among Angels and people, 

we the earthen along with the fiery ,in this nationwide celebration and co-liturgy of  both angels and people; 

because the earth has become heaven and the throne of God is praised alongside us; 

both Angels and people are conjoined;

where the King is the Queen is present,

and the order takes place; 

because He the King of the kings and Lord of the lords is present along with myriads of angels in His animate throne and temple, handling a womanly soul, and presenting honorary gifts to the Mother; 

A harmony is accomplished by everyone, 

and the Lord of the Glory is graced and glorified through the Mother of God ;

because the MOTHER of God, 

the chastity heirloom ,

the protection and salvation of sinners; 

the world's greatest surgery; 

the protector of widows;

the treasure of the impoverished; 

the cure of the ailing; 

the refuge of the deprived;

the nurturer of the orphans and the starving; 

the cane of senility; 

the guide of the world;

the adornment of mothers; 

the pride of priests;

the boast of archpriests; 

the preachment of the apostles; 

the fulfillment of the prophets; 

the glory of patriarchs; 

the strength of the Martyrs; 

the helper of monastics;

the return of the misled;

the guide of sinners; 

the foundation of faith; 

the protection of our nation; 

the resurrection of the dead; 

the light of those in the dark;

the bridge of the cut-off; 

the great heirloom of the whole creation; the real Mother of life is called nigh HER

Son, towards translated life, and is extolled by the angels and is praised to the utmost by us on the one hand unworthily , but on the other hand with a willing mind and with an ardent heart and is worshipped nigh the angels. 

Hence, from above the prophets proclaimed the former as :

.....a spiritual lamp ,and a mount ,and a gate ,and a ladder ,and a pitcher ,and a briar ,and a rod ,and a fleece of wool ,and a table ,and a bed ,and a bridge ,and a bible ,and a cloud ,and precipitation ,and a sun ,and a throne ,and a palace ,and they preluded a canticle ,and seeing the outcome of their preaching and prophecies they set a spiritual fellowship and they hail HER ,the MOTHER of the perpetual light,  along with the triumphant church, as She was ascended and translated into heaven not at all forsaking the earthly,while She verifies the hymns and heads the gathering.

Virgin Mary was translated to Heaven and the Angels rejoice;

Virgin Mary was translated to Heaven and the demons are horrified;

The Queen was translated to Heaven and all the natives and righteous are delighted;

The Mother of God was translated to Heaven and the air was sanctified even on HER conception ;

The Queen of all was translated to Heaven, towards the upper kingdoms, holding HER Son and being on the right as the Mother of a King;

The common conscientiousness of our race was translated to Heaven and our race is presented with incorruption through Her;

The undefiled bride of the Father was translated to Heaven in order to eternally reign;

The MOTHER of life was translated to Heaven ,thus we were absolved from death;

The MOTHER of LIGHT was translated to Heaven, thus it became dawning of the unsetting light;

The heirloom of purity was translated towards Heavens from translated earth today and enters the heavenly Bridal Chamber with glory and honour;

The animate throne of God was translated towards the divine throne;

The palace of the king was translated towards the steady kingdom;

As mother of Life,She was translated to the source of Life donating our race eternal life;

Hence,the Apostles were miraculously summoned to HER weird death by divine commandment and they were all brought together in order to witness the translation (metastasis) of HER holy relic and they even saw the ascension of the Saviour.

Therefore, they gathered together in GesthimanI so that they would transfer the MOTHER of the unsetting Light with glory and honour .

The gate of light is raised into heavens while the revered Bodiless Powers ,".....Lift up your heads,O you gates! And be lifted up,you everlasting! And the MOTHER OF GOD shall come in, the real closed gate, the gate of real life".

The tent of the God and Word was translated towards eternal tents in order to perpetually advocate the world's life and salvation, always being present along with HER Son,and so that we can all be graced the Virgin's blessing and receive the promised everlasting goods of heaven praising HER forever in eternal life ,which may we succeed through HER obtained, mortherly frankness towards HER Son, pleading so that SHE will not neglect the kindred nature but safeguard and save our 

young people and nation.AMEN.................

In giving birth you retained your virginity;

in falling asleep,O Mother of God, you did not abandon the world .

You passed over into life,you,the Mother of Life ;

and by your prayers you deliver our souls from death....

HYMN A'  OF SAINT NEKTARIOS TOWARDS THE MOTHER OF GOD AND MOTHER OF LIGHT......3rd tone

O, Ever Blessed Lady, Most Pure Virgin, 

Most revered paradise, sealed garden;

I beseech Thee ,O Most Immaculate, to grace my mind, direct my thoughts and enlighten my soul;

O Maiden, do thou make me pure, mild, humble, brave, meek and decent, righteous

virtuous, divine;

make me clement, tolerant ,a vessel of virtues, impeccable ,irreproachable, a treasury of goodness;

grant me wisdom, prudence and modesty,

discreetness ,simplicity, and humility;

grant me sobriety, an enlightened eye ,

a radiant mind and a purified spirit;

Expel the self-conceit,the pomposity, 

the unwiseness, the haughtiness and the arrogance;

the hubris, the imperiousness, the superiority, the magniloquent tongue, the obstinacy;

the horrible inconstancy, the verbosity, the craftiness and the profanity. 

Rejoice, O Bride Unwedded.....

O, Most Immaculate ,grant me moral bravery,  courage, soundness ,give me patience;

give me self-denial , generosity, a

conscious zeal and also forgiveness;

give me integrity, a courteous heart ,

a right and peaceful spirit and a spirit of truth ;

O, Most  Immaculate, release me from the passions of heart, O Pure , and from those variously named of moral timidity ;

release me from the horrible cowardice, the audacity, the faint-heartedness, the horrible diffidence and from the despair ;

take away from me, O Maiden, the anger and all kinds of indolence, the despondency, the fury and even the laziness ;

take away from me the envy, the hostility, the hatred, the meanness , the wrath, the vengeance  and the unforgiveness;

the mean feud and the talkativeness,

the horrible loquacity and the profanity;

give me, O Maiden, sense, give me  sensitivity ,give me plenty of apperception and conscientiousness;

give me, O Virgin, the delight of the Holy Spirit, give me peace in soul, peace of the Lord ;

give me love, purified, ardent,pure and sanctified divine love ;

give me living, active, warm ,pure and holy 

faith and unshakeable, certain and godly hope. 

Rejoice, O Bride Unwedded ......

Take away from me, O Virgin, the fetters of sin, of my lusts and other transgressions :

the terrible carelessness and the overcaring, the evil curiosity and the talkativeness, the useless incontinence and the haughtiness, the negligence, the drunkenness and the lack of mercy,

the bad desires, the terrible impurity, the extravagance, the darkness, the great insensitivity. 

Take away the tendency to tell jokes, the enjoyment, the prodigality .

The laughter of immorality and every evil. 

Give me , O Maiden ,prudence,self-restraint,

carefulness, vigilance and perfect obedience. 

Give me carefulness in all and acute discernment, silence, order and holy patience. 

Grant to me ,O Lady ,eagerness to work and to attain my perfection and zeal for virtues and exercise. 

Keep, O Most-Holy One , my soul, my heart and my mind in holiness and guard it in virginity.....

Glory to thee, Mother of God, 

glory to thee, Panagia,

giving our thanks, 

we bow down before you,

Mother of the most high....

HYMN B' OF SAINT NEKTARIOS... TOWARDS THE MOTHER OF GOD...

O my Lady, Theotokos, 

my hope,  my strength,  my joy ;

the world's salvation , the only ready assistance of the spiritual athletes  ;

O, Virgin, I supplicate  thee , and ardently appeal to thee ,

I wholeheartedly request that thou grant me thy grace;

I struggle to acquire my merciful God, and please Him through exercise and suffering;

but the more I strive, struggle and sigh,

the more I find out that I lie in sin , in horrible arrogance, in envy, in hatred, in fury and in meanness, and that I am held captive;

I always suffer pain and make every effort in the hope of managing, like thee Maiden , to acquire in the end any of the virtues , love, friendship, the serenity of my soul, the peace of heart, ardent, pure and holy worship of God, perfect devotion and worthy love ; the certain hope and the unshakeable faith;

but the strengths weaken and not at all work towards my perfection and my holiness;

I know I can accomplish nothing without divine assistance, I know that I grow weak without divine collaboration;

for this reason I bow down and beseech Thee to mind me through Your mercy and make me well intentioned so that my Lord and God, my wise Creator will make me partaker of His holy grace and reinforce me greatly through His power, 

purify like thee Maiden my soul and heart and grant me grace, prudence and wisdom, flood my heart with divine and ardent love, provide me with unfaltering and certain hope ,

give me stable , living, active and unshakeable faith ,

render calmness, joy and delight to me,

and grant me peace, the one given by God;

I Thy servant can acquire all these through Thy mediations, O Panagia , become rich in God and please Him ,

walk unobstructedly towards straight paths, towards the irreproachable and holy roads of salvation through the divine goodwill ;

I can dominate in the fight against the deceiver of the dark century with the power of God and divine help;

and I can win on the tracks of the stadium as a stable hoplite of Christ wearing a divine armour made of divine gifts , and remain invulnerable ;

and after being crowned, I hustle towards my Lord, the benefactor of the favours ,so that I can relish the coveted, divine sight and listen to the sweetest voice of the Lord, 

here ,come O servant, to share the Lord's joy......................

let us , the faithful, praise as inspired servants of Christ ; 

for he pours out healings of every kind for those who devoutly cry :
